For most of my posts, I select a group of images, identify or create a unifying theme, and write to that. But as I reviewed images for today’s post, I had to accept that one image I chose was best left standing alone. No need to scatter the focus by showing several others. The intense blue sky, and the small white puffy cloud took my breath away each time I looked at the image — Zion Canyon on a fabulous day. Then, of course, there is the mountain itself, imposing in its beauty and size, and equally breathtaking; displaying its striated face to the world, graced by shadows that emphasized its craggy features. If I looked for a second, I looked for an hour, each time finding something new.
I would say more, but I thought Jarod Kintz said it best:
“The mountains are where God proves He’s better than Michelangelo at sculpting.”
