The eagle stands alone.
It’s not every day that you get a chance to get up close and personal with a bald eagle. And for me, this was definitely a first! Wow…. That’s really all I can say (Except that I was so enamored by the eagle that I had a hard time narrowing my image selections). This was the bonus of visiting the Howell Nature Center the last weekend (profiled in https://eyepointofview.com/2015/10/22/its-all-about-the-birds-owl-and-kestrel-edition-5-pix/), where this eagle healed — and since he sustained permanent injury, currently lives.
They yellow-eyed piercing stare. Head pointed, back flat, bill open. Wings up, flapping. Wings back, head pointed forward. In profile, looking from the back. They are all faces of the eagle. And me – I‘m just speechless from the opportunity to see the eagle from up close. Hope you enjoy these 5* images of one of America’s most recognizable symbols — our national bird.
Let’s see — Fall colors photography workshop for two. Flight from Chicago to Detroit. Hotel for two nights and rental car. 4 hours driving & sitting in a workshop. Quality time with my sister & getting up close and personal with a bald eagle — PRICELESS.
‘Nuff said.
